Ten years ago, the business cycle was something relatively unknown and significantly unexplored in Mexico, due basically to the lack of relevant economic indicators. Starting in 2000, INEGI (the Mexican Statistics Institute) starts publishing new high frequency data that allows us to track the business cycle with detail. Now, available information allows us to analyze the recessions that Mexico has had between 1980 and 2010 and reach conclusions on depth and duration of each one. foodle
